Indiana High Court Suspends Ex-Prosecutor's Law License

Last updated on Monday, September 3, 2018

(VALPARAISO) - The Indiana Supreme Court is suspending a former northern Indiana prosecutor’s law license for withholding evidence in a child molestation case.

Wednesday's court order says Trista Hudson's license will be suspended for at least 18 months starting Oct. 10.

The order says Hudson was a Porter County deputy prosecutor in 2016 when she failed to reveal during a Portage man's child molestation trial that one of his alleged victims admitted making up at least part of the accusations.

The (Northwest Indiana) Times reports the court says Hudson learned about the fabrications five days before trial, but didn't disclose them to the defense nor withdraw the charge stemming from the accusation.

The fabrications were discovered when the man's attorney questioned the 12-year-old boy. A judge acquitted the defendant on all counts.
