Police Seek Voluntary Compliance With Traffic Safety Issues At Diesel Event

Last updated on Wednesday, August 22, 2018

(VIGO CO.) - Police say they’re seeking voluntary compliance with traffic safety and other laws during this weekend’s Scheid Diesel Extravaganza at the Vigo County Fairgrounds.

The event, which runs Friday through Sunday, is expected to draw a few thousand spectators and hundreds of diesel pickup trucks.

State, County, and Local law enforcement will be targeting dangerous and impaired driving, alcohol related violations, including underage drinking, passenger restraint violations, noise violations, and passengers riding in the cargo area of pickup trucks.

They will also be enforcing the "excessive smoke" statute.
