Perdue AgriBusiness To Reopen Former Cargill Grain Elevator In Vincennes

Last updated on Wednesday, August 8, 2018

(VINCENNES) - Perdue AgriBusiness announced Tuesday it will purchase and reopen the former Cargill grain elevator in Vincennes.

Cargill closed the grain elevator on Ramsey Road in July of 2017.

The company says the move will ensure farmers the return of an important local grain market in time for this year's harvest.

Perdue's operations in the area include a feed mill and grain complex and turkey harvest plant in Washington and turkey grow-out operations.

Perdue purchases grain from 300 area farmers and 150 farmers in Indiana and Illinois raise turkeys for the company.
