Banks: Nearly 3,000 Positions Available At Upcoming Job Fair

(FORT WAYNE) - Congressman Jim Banks (IN-03) announced that northeast Indiana employers will be looking to fill nearly 3,000 positions at the upcoming job fair he will hold in conjunction with Purdue University Fort Wayne and WorkOne Northeast.

The job fair will take place on Wednesday, August 8 from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Purdue University Fort Wayne Student Union.

The job fair will feature regional postsecondary education institutions and local employers looking for workers. It will also feature resume assistance and interview coaching.

Details on the event:

At the job fair, the following industries will be represented: agriculture, finance and insurance, education, government, health care and social assistance, manufacturing and retail. The following are a few of the positions employers will look to fill: assemblers, human resource generalists, medical assistants, medical coding specialists, production positions, quality engineers, registered nurses, teachers, truck drivers and welders.

Job seekers will be able to meet with employers with openings and obtain resume and job interview assistance from WorkOne Northeast, which is overseen by Northeast Indiana Works. Individuals will have the opportunity to learn how to create an attention-getting resume, develop conversations to highlight their experience and qualifications, make themselves memorable to employers and follow up after job interviews.
