Lugar Series Welcomes New Leadership To Board

(INDIANAPOLIS) - The Richard G. Lugar Excellence in Public Service Series recently elected a new executive committee and welcomed new members to serve on the Board of Governors to lead the Republican leadership program in its 29th year.

Newly elected executive committee officials, include:

"The newly elected executive committee brings with them years of experience and a passion for political involvement and public service," Mills said. "I look forward to working with them and seeing new ideas develop to engage and inspire young Hoosier women to become leaders."

The role of the Lugar Series Board of Governors is to create new ways to engage with Republican women, establish a yearly budget, and keep the program on track with the Series' mission of preparing and increasing the number of Republican women in elected and appointed offices.

New members joining the Board of Governors, include:

"We want to especially thank Libby Cierzniak, Joyce Irwin, Heather Neal, Mel Raines and Betsy Wiley for their many years of service to the Lugar Series and the Board of Governors," said Anne Hathaway, Lugar Series Executive Director. "I look forward to working with our new board to select Hoosier women to participate in the 2018-2019 class once the application closes on Aug. 1."

The Richard G. Lugar Excellence in Public Service Series is a nonprofit organization inspired by former Indiana Senator Richard G. Lugar. The Series is a women's leadership development program designed to increase the number of Republican women in local, state and national elective and appointive offices.
