John Ketzenberger Joins The Nature Conservancy As Director Of Government Relations

Last updated on Tuesday, July 3, 2018

(INDIANAPOLIS) - The Nature Conservancy in Indiana is pleased to announce that John Ketzenberger is its new director of government relations.

In his new role with the conservation group, Ketzenberger will lead the Conservancy's legislative and policy efforts.

"We are thrilled to have John on board," said Mary McConnell, state director for the Conservancy's Indiana Chapter. "John brings to us decades of experience which will help us continue to protect Indiana's amazing natural areas."

Prior to coming to the Conservancy, Ketzenberger was a part of WFYI's Indiana Week in Review. For 23 years, he was part of a panel that debated and discussed issues facing Indiana.

"I am excited to be joining The Nature Conservancy," said Ketzenberger. "Conservation is a constant in my life. My family owns a 200-acre farm in Steuben County, including 30 acres of woods near Fish Creek, and we've always been conscious of how our actions affect local rivers and streams."

For the last nine years, Ketzenberger was president of the Indiana Fiscal Policy Institute (IFPI), a private, not-for-profit governmental research organization. Prior to his work at IFPI, he spent more than 20 years in journalism, including as a business columnist for the Indianapolis Star, managing editor of the Indianapolis Business Journal, and Indiana Bureau Chief for Gannett News Service covering the Statehouse for three papers.

Ketzenberger added, "I'm privileged to join the fray in service of the mission of The Nature Conservancy--to conserve the lands and waters on which all life depends."
