(MOORESVILLE) - The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) will host a project open house regarding an upcoming resurfacing project on State Road 42 in Mooresville from the White Lick Creek Bridge over the West Fork to just west of the intersection with State Road 67.
The purpose of this project is to rehabilitate the pavement, curbs and sidewalks ramps along S.R. 42 (High Street). The project will begin at the bridge crossing over White Lick Creek (West Fork) and end at the S.R. 42 intersection with S.R. 67. In addition to the pavement work, the project will replace the existing concrete curbs and add ADA compliant curb ramps to the sidewalks. INDOT is working with the town of Mooresville to consider adding a shared-use path along one side of S.R. 42. This path would be accessible to pedestrians and bicyclists and would take a similar form to what was recently constructed by the town of Mooresville along Indiana Street. The project is scheduled to begin construction in 2021.
The open house is an opportunity for INDOT to meet with members of the community regarding the upcoming construction related activities. The open house is scheduled for Wednesday, July 25, at 6 p.m. at the Mooresville Town Government Center Auditorium located at Four East Harrison St. in town.
During the open house INDOT representatives will be available to address questions and discuss the objectives of the project. The open house will not include a formal presentation but rather is intended to be an informal session. This event is an opportunity for the community to learn more about the project and to also provide input to the project as construction approaches.
