Indiana Conservation Officers searching for possible drowning victim

(North Liberty) - Indiana Conservation Officers are actively searching for a man who went under the water Saturday afternoon and did not resurface on Worster Lake in St. Joseph County.

An Indiana Conservation Officer on patrol at Potato Creek State Park was alerted to the possible drowning by State Park boat rental personnel around 4:00 p.m. Sunday July 15th. Divers with the Conservation Officers and St. Joseph County Sheriff's Department arrived on scene and began the search.

Currently, officers are utilizing side scan sonar equipment to image the bottom of the lake. The search was suspended at 10:00pm Sunday and resumed this morning.

Conservation Officers were assisted at the scene by St. Joseph County Police, North Liberty Police, Lakeville Police, North Liberty EMS, North Liberty Fire, St. Joseph County Fire and DNR State Parks Personnel.
