2006 Slayings Of Indiana Woman, Stepson Remain Unsolved

Last updated on Wednesday, July 25, 2018

(FRANKLIN) - Relatives of a 10-year-old central Indiana boy who was slain along with his stepmother in 2006 are still looking for justice 12 years after the double-murder.

Blake Dickus and his 26-year-old stepmother, Chynna L. Dickus, were slain in July 2006 in their Franklin home, about 15 miles southeast of Indianapolis.

Both were stabbed and Blake was also beaten and smothered.

Blake's mother says his murder remains difficult for her to deal with. Christina Dickus tells WXIN-TV she yearns for justice for her son.

Franklin police Detective Scott Carter says several home burglaries occurred around the time of the murders, but police won't know if they're linked to the killings until they solve those burglaries.

A $25,000 reward remains for information leading to an arrest and conviction in the killings.
