Downtown Indy Rally To Call For Tobacco-Free Generation

(INDIANAPOLIS) - Kids and health advocates will call for creating the first tobacco-free generation in Indiana at a rally in downtown Indianapolis on June 27. The event is an extension of Kick Butts Day, a national celebration and display of activism when youth reject tobacco.

The Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids, the nation's leading anti-tobacco advocacy organization, and the Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Anthem, Inc., are hosting the rally on Monument Circle.

Speakers will include local elected officials, health advocates and youth. Other activities will include a community health fair, a pledge wall where participants can commit to helping create the first tobacco-free generation, and other visual displays highlighting the dangers of tobacco to Hoosiers.
