(WHITESTOWN) - Indiana Conservation Officers are investigating an off-road vehicle crash involving injury that occurred Monday night.
At approximately 6:28 pm, Conservation Officers and other first responders were dispatched to the area of Main Street and Albert South White Drive in Whitestown for an off-road vehicle crash.
35-year-old Brian Romano of Whitestown was operating a Yamaha Raptor 700 on Albert South White Drive when he lost control of the vehicle. It was determined that he was traveling at about 40 mph when he was thrown approximately 25 feet from the machine.
Romano suffered a broken leg during the incident but was wearing a helmet which prevented further injury on impact.
Whitestown EMS transported Romano via ambulance to St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis for medical treatment.
Conservation Officers want to stress the importance of helmets and safe operation when riding an Off-Road Vehicle.
