Central Indiana Regional Arts Services To Be Managed By The Indiana Arts Commission

Last updated on Thursday, June 21, 2018

(INDIANAPOLIS) - The Indiana Arts Commission (IAC) and Butler University’s Jordan College of the Arts jointly announced today that Regional Arts Partner services for the IAC’s Region 7 will be managed by the Indiana Arts Commission. Jordan College of the Arts will end its services as a Regional Arts Partner effective June 30, 2018. The College has served as Region 7 Arts Partner since January 1, 2016.

Region 7 includes Boone, Hamilton, Hancock, Hendricks, Johnson, Marion and Shelby counties.

"We are pleased to have had the opportunity to work with Jordan College of the Arts staff, especially Bob Burnett whose previous experience as a former IAC staff member, and later executive director of the Columbus Area Arts Council, gave him unique insight into the workings of the Regional Arts Partnership program," said IAC Executive Director Lewis C. Ricci.

Jordan College of the Arts was selected as a Regional Arts Partner based on the strength of its undergraduate arts administration program and Butler University's reputation as a center for arts and culture in Central Indiana.

"The Arts Administration Department of the Jordan College of the Arts has enjoyed the rich learning opportunity (on the public grants process) provided to our students through the Regional Arts Partnership," said Susan Zurbuchen, Chair of the Arts Administration Department at Butler University.

For the upcoming fiscal year (July 2018 through June 2019) the IAC will manage the Region 7 grant application and panel review process. The IAC will contact Region 7 organizations regarding the availability of grant guidelines and application deadlines. Bob Burnett will work with FY18 grantees to conclude their fiscal year grant requirements.

"We want to assure our Region 7 arts providers this will be a seamless transition with no interruption of IAC services they have come to expect," Ricci added.

Organizations in Region 7 seeking additional information about the grant process should contract Stephanie Haines at 317-232-1274 or email shaines@iac.in.gov.
