Last updated on Friday, May 25, 2018

(UNDATED) - Indiana State Police have been using an airplane to find speeders leading up to the Memorial Day weekend.

During two three-hour periods Wednesday and Thursday, troopers, assisted by a fixed wing aircraft, issued 38 citations and 22 warnings on US 41 in southern Sullivan County and State Road 63 in northern Vermillion County.

The highest speed was 89 miles-per-hour in a 60mph zone.

Meanwhile, motorists are reminded that Operation Pull Over/Click It or Ticket is ongoing and runs through June 3rd.

State Police and local law enforcement are targeting seatbelt and child restraint violations, as well as dangerous, impaired, and aggressive driving.
