Last updated on Monday, April 2, 2018

(JASPER) - Friday Jasper Police arrested a man after he threatened Walmart employees with an extendable baton.

Police arrested 56-year-old Michael McCracken following an incident that started in the Electronics section of Walmart and ended at the front of the store with McCracken swinging a collapsible baton at store employees.

When police arrived to the store they found McCracken in the parking lot.

Walmart personnel told police McCracken had been in the electronics department and got upset and started yelling at employees. A store management asked him to leave several times. McCracken then made his way towards the front of the store where he stopped suddenly, pulled out a collapsible baton and threatened the staff with it. He then swung it at one of the employees a couple of times.

McCracken kept the baton expanded until almost out of the store before he collapsed down and exited the store while continuing to yell at store personnel.

When police arrived, McCracken was arrested and taken to the Dubois County Security Center on a Level 5 felony charge of intimidation with a deadly weapon and a misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct.
