Duke Energy Awards Foreign Direct Investment Partnership Program Grants to Five Economic Development Groups

(PLAINFIELD) - For the first time, Duke Energy has awarded grants ranging from $3,000 to $5,000 to five regional economic development groups as part of the company’s inaugural Foreign Direct Investment Partnership Program.

"Duke Energy and our partners have had great success in attracting companies from a number of foreign countries to establish their manufacturing operations in our communities," said Erin Schneider, director of economic development for Duke Energy Indiana. "Indiana offers a stable economy, superior logistics and a competitive business climate."

The five regional organizations which received the grants include:

Regional economic development groups may use the funds for international sales trip coordination fees, international conference and trade show registrations, and the translation of marketing collateral. Funding may not be used for travel, lodging, food and beverage or entertainment expenses. They must also create a method for measuring and tracking program outcomes.
