Governor Holcomb Signs Bill To Improve Infant Mortality Rate

Last updated on Tuesday, March 13, 2018

(INDIANAPOLIS) - A bill aimed at improving the Indiana infant mortality rate has been signed into law by Governor Holcomb.

With 623 deaths recorded of more than 83-thousand babies born in 2016, the state has one of the highest infant mortality rates.

The law will guarantee consistent levels of care at hospitals and birthing centers by having the needed equipment and staff.

Gov. Holcomb says the law can't solve it overnight, but it puts the state on the right path.
