(PLAINFIELD) - Duke Energy has named Jean Renk as government and community relations manager for four counties in the company’s central Indiana service territory, including Hendricks, Johnson, Hancock and Shelby counties. The appointment is effective immediately.
Community relations managers serve as liaisons between the company and local communities, building positive relationships with local government leaders, businesses and not-for- profit organizations. Renk's most recent role was with Schmidt Associates in Indianapolis as a business development associate. She serves on several community boards and committees, including the Indiana State Board of Education's rules committee, Indy Chamber and the Arc of Indiana Foundation.
She received her bachelor's degree in public policy from Indiana University. She and her husband, Tom, live on the north side of Indianapolis with their son, Andy.
Duke Energy Indiana's operations provide about 6,800 megawatts of owned electric capacity to approximately 820,000 customers in a 23,000-square- mile service area, making it the state's largest electric supplier.
