12-Year-Old Arrested After Allegedly Making Threats At School

Last updated on Wednesday, March 14, 2018

(GREENFIELD) - Police in central Indiana say they’ve arrested a 12-year-old boy after a written threat of a school shooting was found at a school.

The threat was found on a piece of paper this week at Greenfield Intermediate School. Resource officers and school officials traced the threat back to the boy, who was arrested. Police say the note indicated that the writer had a gun in a locker, but no weapons were found.

The student faces a preliminary charge of intimidation and is being held in juvenile detention.

There have been numerous threats leading to arrests linked to schools in Indiana and other states since 17 people were killed last month at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida. Authorities have said they're being vigilant about investigating such threats.
