(VINCENNES) - A Vincennes man was arrested early Tuesday morning in connection to setting a house on fire late Monday night in the 411 Harrison Street.

Vincennes Police arrested 31-year-old Ronnie Wingard on a charge of arson. He is being held in the Knox County Jail on $1,500 cash bond.

The fire was reported around 9:45 p.m. Monday. The home was destroyed.

Vincennes Fire Chief Sonny Pinkstaff told the Vincennes Sun Commercial they saw Wingard watching as firefighters fought the blaze. They sought him out for questioning and learned Wingate allegedly set fire to the bedroom of the home after being evicted recently.
