(PERRY CO.) - A male juvenile was arrested Friday afternoon after threats were made and directed toward the Perry Central Junior-Senior High School.

On Thursday, Indiana State Police Detective Josh Greer and Perry County Sheriff's deputies were called to the Perry Central High School after a student had made an alleged threat to harm others. With complete cooperation from the Perry County School Corporation, law enforcement officials were able to develop a suspect.

Friday, Greer and the deputies completed their investigation and presented it to the Perry County Juvenile Probation Department. A Juvenile Pickup Order was granted and the suspect was taken into custody without incident.

At the request of the Perry County Juvenile Judge, the incarceration location and the name of the suspect will not be released.

The juvenile is facing a preliminary Level 5 felony count of intimidation and a preliminary Level 6 felony count of false reporting.

The Indiana State Police want students and their parents to know that any and all real or perceived threats towards a school and or its students will be investigated with the utmost urgency.

Parents are urged to discuss with their children the life-changing consequences associated with making threats of violent acts toward a school or any occupied buildings.

Perry County Sheriff's Department, Branchville Correctional Facility, Perry County Emergency Medical Services along with Central Perry and Anderson Township Fire Departments assisted with the investigation and incident.
