Indiana State Board Of Education To Hold Public Hearings On Accountability Rule

(INDIANAPOLIS) - The Indiana State Board of Education (SBOE) has announced five public hearings to be held around the state regarding the Board’s proposed Accountability Rule.

At the January SBOE business meeting, the Board voted to advance proposed changes to the state's school accountability rule to a public comment period. In an effort to get as much as information as possible from the field the SBOE will be holding public hearings on the following dates and locations:

February 19, 2018, 4 p.m. - 7 p.m.
Ivy Tech Community College-Northeast

February 22, 2018, 4 p.m. - 7 p.m.

If anyone is unable to make these meetings public comment can also be submitted via email at sboe_comment@sboe.in.gov. The public comment period will end at the close of business on April 4, 2018.

If approved, Indiana's new school accountability rule would go into effect next school year (2018-2019).
