Deadline Approaching To Apply For Arts Commission's Individual Advancement Program

Last updated on Wednesday, February 7, 2018

(INDIANAPOLIS) - The Indiana Arts Commission (IAC) announced today that Hoosier artists in selected disciplines have until 4:30 p.m. (EST) February 15, 2018 to submit applications for Individual Advancement Program grants.

Applications may be submitted in the disciplines of crafts, design, media arts, photography, and visual arts. Applications must be submitted through the IAC's online grant application system.

Formerly known as the Individual Artist Program, the name has been revised to the "Individual Advancement Program" highlighting the increased focus on community engagement, public benefit, and career advancement for artists.

The program also now offers an early career category serving artists who have been pursing their arts career for less than five years, excluding any formal or apprenticeship training in their discipline. The early career applications will be reviewed and scored by a separate panel from the ones that review applications from more experienced artists.

Artists who have previously received grants from the Individual Artist Program must now wait two grant cycles before they can apply again in the same category.

For more information about the Individual Advancement Program, contact Anna Tragesser, Artist and Community Services Manager, atragesser@iac.in.gov or call 317-232-1281.

The Indiana Arts Commission is dedicated to the vision of the arts everywhere, every day, for everyone in Indiana.
