Possible Body Of Missing Terre Haute Woman Found

Last updated on Monday, January 8, 2018

(TERRE HAUTE) - Terre Haute police say the SUV of a missing Terre Haute woman was pulled from a pond in Vigo County Friday afternoon, with the body of a woman inside the trunk.

It's not yet known if the body is that of 77-year-old Alice Oswald who disappeared back in November. However, police do confirm the SUV belongs to Oswald and was found in a remote pond in eastern Vigo County around 3:30 p.m. on Friday.

She had been reported missing on Nov. 9. She was last seen leaving a business to meet a worker at one of her rental properties.

The Terre Haute Tribune Star reports evidence in the vehicle leads them to believe the woman found inside did not drive herself into the pond and that Oswald's disappearance will continue to be investigated as a homicide.
