Near Record Temperatures Increase Demand For Propane

Last updated on Wednesday, January 3, 2018

(INDIANAPOLIS) - Near record cold temperatures in Indiana have increased the demand for propane.

Governor Eric Holcomb has declared an emergency and has lifted restrictions on hours of service for drivers transporting propane.

In his executive order, Holcomb says outages and long lines at local propane terminals and longer driving distances throughout Indiana have caused drivers to deplete available hours of service while either driving or waiting in line, making it difficult to deliver propane to customers within the required timeline.
