Flu Closes Knox County Community Corrections Center in Vincennes

Last updated on Wednesday, January 10, 2018

(VINCENNES) - Managers at the Community Corrections Work Release Center in Vincennes sent everyone home for 48 hours earlier this week because of the flu.

All of the inmates, nearly 100, returned to the facility when it reopened Tuesday.

The center's Scott Brown says the flu virus was running rampant.

On Sunday, crews began cleaning the facility with disinfectant around the clock.

The offenders were given a 48-hour leave and were required to wear GPS tracking devices on their ankles for the duration.
