(EVANSVILLE) - Father Joseph Siegel has been installed as the new Bishop of Evansville.
Siegel accepted the appointment by Pope Francis at an installation mass at St. Benedict Cathedral in Evansville Friday.
Among the attendees at the mass were his predecessor, now Archbishop of Indianapolis Charles Thompson as well as Archbishop Christophe Pierre, Papal Nuncio to the United States.
Siegel comes to Evansville after formerly serving as Bishop of Joliet, Illinois.
