Raffle Helps Build Indiana Sheriffs' Youth Ranch

Last updated on Friday, November 24, 2017

(BRAZIL) - Indiana sheriffs will draw Dec. 15 for a RAM 1500 pickup truck being raffled to raise funds for their new Youth Ranch, where they will mentor future law enforcement officers and bond with at-risk kids.

"We are reminding public safety supporters across the state to rush their checks or completed ticket stubs to us to make certain they're included in the big drawing," said Scott Minier, deputy executive director of the Youth Ranch.

The $45,000 2016 truck is sponsored in-part by John Jones Auto Group of Corydon, Greenville, Salem and Scottsburg. The black pearl-finished RAM 1500 SSV Crew Cab 4x4 is equipped with a 5.7 liter V8 Hemi engine, towing package, bed liner and side steps.

"Raffle tickets are just $2, three for $5, seven for $10, 15 for $20, 38 for $50 and 80 tickets for $100. There is still time to buy tickets in person or by mail," Minier said.

Each county's sheriff's office statewide has a limited supply of tickets. Donors may also send checks to the Indiana Sheriffs' Youth Ranch, c/o Indiana Sheriffs' Association, 147 E. Maryland St., Indianapolis, IN 46204.

For 38 years, sheriffs and deputies have hosted career and leadership camps for Indiana middle schoolers. The new Indiana Sheriffs' Youth Ranch, now under development in rural West Central Indiana, will be the permanent site of those camps - which are expected to expand to more days per week and more weeks per summer.

Drawing for the RAM 1500 will be at 12 noon on Dec. 15 at John Jones Auto Group's Police Pursuit Division, 1520 S. Jackson St., in Salem. The lucky winner will be notified by telephone or email and publicized via traditional and social media.
