Last updated on Tuesday, November 14, 2017

(OAKTOWN) - An Oaktown woman is dead following a Sunday morning house fire.

At approximately 8:20 a.m., Oaktown-Bussreon Township and Washington Township Fire departments were dispatched to 308 Raymond Street.

Indiana State Police say when firefighters were inside the home extinguishing the blaze they found the body of 70-year-old Jeanette Rickard in the living room of her home. The Knox County Coroner says preliminary autopsy results show Rickard died from smoke inhalation.

Fire investigators believe the fire started in the living room where Rickard's body was found. No foul play is suspected.
