Jennifer Pfeil Named American Red Cross New Regional Chief Development Officer

(INDIANAPOLIS) - The Indiana Region of the American Red Cross has appointed Jennifer Pfeil, as the new Chief of Development Officer, effective November 13, 2017. Pfeil is a seasoned business and non-profit executive bringing more than 20 years of leadership and fundraising experience.

"We are elated to have Jennifer join our regional team," said Chad Priest, regional CEO of the Indiana Region of the American Red Cross. "She has a deep appreciation and impressive record of success that will allow us to continue building resilient communities across Indiana. Her extensive experience in non-profit work and strong background in leadership will be a strong asset for our state."

In 2011, Pfeil transitioned to the non-profit sector where she served in roles of progressive responsibility at the United Way of Central Indiana. Her work focused on major and planned giving and grants, with annual revenue responsibility of $24 million. As Vice President of Investor Relations, substantial revenue increases were achieved from donors who gave $10,000 or more annually.

Most recently, Pfeil served as the Chief Development Officer of WFYI Public Media, where she led all aspects of fundraising including corporate support, membership, major and planned giving, grants and data. She also led the successful closure of an $8.5 million capital campaign.

"In recent weeks, the Red Cross has again demonstrated its significant ability to positively assist communities and families in crisis. It is a privilege to be a part of an organization that provides impact of such great magnitude," said Jennifer Pfeil, chief development officer for the Red Cross. "I look forward to working with this region's outstanding development team, helping to share the Red Cross story across our state and engage even more people in this life-changing movement."

Pfeil holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Purdue University and is a 2016 graduate of the Hoosier Fellows program. Her community involvement has included serving on the board of Habitat for Humanity of Hamilton County, as a member of Noblesville Schools High Ability Committee and as youth education leader at church.

The Indiana Region serves 87 Indiana counties consisting of six Red Cross chapters: Central Indiana (Indianapolis headquarters), Northern Indiana (South Bend headquarters), Northeast Indiana (Fort Wayne headquarters), Northwest (Merrillville headquarters), Southern Indiana (Evansville headquarters) and West Central Indiana (Terre Haute headquarters).
