Indiana Sells New, Strong Sam Adams Beer

(UNDATED) - You can’t buy beer on Sunday in Indiana, but you can buy a beer here that’s illegal in 12 other states. is so potent with its 28 percent ABV (alcohol by volume) ((really, super strong)), that it’s illegal in 12 states.

It's very rare. It's released only every other year, and a mere 13,000 bottles are being distributed nationwide.

Additionally, due to the "extreme" barrel-aging - which Sam Adams says is "a multi-step, time-intensive and complex process" - and the rarity, that means it's gonna set you back at least $199. A bottle.

It's a 28-percent alcohol brew that costs 200 dollars-per-bottle.

For a comparison, Bud Light has four-point-two percent alcohol.

Utopias is six times stronger.

Regulators in Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Idaho, Mississippi, Montana, New Hampshire, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Vermont, and Washington all banned the beer because it is too strong.
