(INDIANAPOLIS) - Teachers and lawmakers could see the final recommendations to require more than just a diploma to graduate high school in the state of Indiana.

A state board of education panel is expected to unveil its plan today.

Among the new standards would be requirements that students earn college credit or a technical certificate, have an after-school job or something like it and get into college.

Supporters say the idea will force Indiana high school students to become college or career ready.
