Crash Claims Life Of Bluffton Man

(HUNTINGTON CO.) - The Indiana State Police is investigating a single vehicle crash which occurred early Monday afternoon just outside of Warren and claimed the life of a man from rural Bluffton.

The investigation conducted by Trooper David Kewish revealed at approximately 2:15 p.m., a 2000 Dodge pickup truck driven by 58-year-old Timothy M. Brown was traveling west on Shafer Road, east of Frederick Street.

The truck entered a curve and then left the south side of Shafer Road where it reportedly rolled over at least one time. Brown, who was not wearing a seatbelt at the time, was pinned inside before being extricated by members of the Warren Fire Department.

Brown was transported by ambulance to Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne with life-threatening injuries. He died shortly after arriving at the hospital.

At this time, the crash remains under investigation pending toxicology results.

Kewish was assisted at the scene by the Huntington County Sheriff Department, the Warren Fire Department and Parkview EMS.
