Want To Learn How To Hunt - Attend DNR Workshop

(EVANSVILLE) - Want to deer hunt but don’t know where to start? The Learn to Hunt: Deer Hunting 101 Workshop is for you.

The two-day workshop will be held at Wesselman Woods Nature Preserve in Evansville on Oct. 23 and 24, from 5 to 8 p.m. CDT both days.

Early registration is required due to limited space. The registration deadline for this event is Oct. 23.

This workshop is designed for Families and Individuals wanting to learn how to hunt deer. The workshop is made up of two 3 hour classes. All classes will be held at Wesselman Woods Nature Preserve.

Day 1: Participants will learn: History of deer hunting in Indiana, laws and regulations, differences between rural and urban hunting, and how to scout and hunt public lands.

Day 2: Participants will learn: tree setups and safety, hunt techniques, gear selection, shot placement (archery vs firearms), tracking, and processing harvested game.
