Need For Special Education, Math And Science Teachers

(UNDATED) - The latest results from an Indiana State University study shows schools in the state are in the middle of a teacher shortage.

The ISU study says 94-percent of schools said they need someone to fill a classroom. special education, science, and math teachers are most in demand.

The study's author says there simply aren't enough young teachers getting into the business to meet demand.

The study found 23 percent of districts rely on full-time substitute teachers to deal with the shortages.
