Processing Plant in China - Talk Media News

(WASHINGTON, D.C.) - A report from the USDA's Office of Inspector General adds fuel to the Consumer Federation of America's complaint against lax inspections of meat and poultry that is imported from overseas.

Talk Media News reports, the OIG report comes after USDA suspended Brazilian beef imports in the wake of allegations of corruption and unsanitary conditions in that country's meatpacking industry.

The report also follows USDA's Food Safety and Inspection Service proposal to allow imports of cooked chicken products from China.
