INDOT May Be Adding Tolls To Five Corridors In The State

Last updated on Monday, October 23, 2017

(INDIANAPOLIS) - INDOT is requesting proposals to plan a toll road system that would run through Indianapolis.

The Indiana Department of Transportation will need to select a firm by January 26th of 2018 to move forward with the plan.

It would potentially toll I-94 from Illinois to Michigan, I-65 from I-90 to I-465, I-70 from the Illinois state line to I-465, I-465 to the Ohio River, and I-465 to the Ohio state line.

Once a firm is selected, INDOT will need to get approval from the Federal Highway Administration as the tolling of an interstate highway is controlled by federal law.
