Wabash Valley Correctional Facility Officer Arrested For Trafficking With Inmate

(WABASH) - A Wabash Valley Correctional Facility Officer was arrested Wednesday morning by Correctional Police on Trafficking and related charges.

25-year-old Aaron McQuaid of Lawrenceville, Illinois is initially charged with trafficking with an inmate and official misconduct.

McQuaid reportedly admitted having tobacco in a pill bottle, a suboxone strip in his wallet along with over $180.

Investigators allege he also admitted to previously smuggling 50 suboxone strips into the facility for an offender, in exchange for a $500 payoff.

McQuaid was fired and stripped of his uniform prior to transport to the Sullivan County Jail.

Bond was set at $23,000.

McQuaid had been on the job for just one year.
