(UNDATED) - The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released its annual Sexually Transmitted Disease Surveillance Report which calculates there were more than 2 million cases of chlamydia, gonorrhea and syphilis in the U.S. in 2016.
It was the highest number ever, CDC said, adding that 1.6 million of the cases were chlamydia. There were also 470,000 gonorrhea cases and almost 28,000 cases of syphilis.
