(BRAZIL) - Have you ever dreamed of having a building named after you? A landmark memorializing your parents? Honoring your business?
Indiana's 92 sheriffs are on a manhunt - or woman hunt - for dozens of donors able to sponsor buildings and amenities at their new Indiana Sheriffs' Youth Ranch being built in West Central Indiana.
"Ten cabins, a horse stable and a recreation center are among the available naming rights opportunities," said Boone County Sheriff Mike Nielsen, board president of the not-for-profit Youth Ranch.
For 38 years, sheriffs and deputies have mentored future law enforcement officers and bonded with at-risk kids at rented camps across the state, Nielsen explained. "Through the help of a generous funder, we are now able to acquire a property to develop our own built-to-suit camp where we can host weekly leadership camps throughout the summer and weekend youth retreats in the spring and fall of the year."
Nielsen said sheriffs will soon be briefing their community and business leaders on local needs and uses of the Youth Ranch and seeking naming rights sponsors. "We're getting good interest from farmers and agri-business leaders; manufacturers and utility companies; unions and fraternal organizations; attorneys, doctors, bankers, insurers, real estate brokers and auto dealers; and community, corporate and family foundations."
