Man Dies In Spencer County ORV Accident

(SPENCER CO.) - Indiana Conservation Officers are investigating the death of a Spencer County Man who was found dead at the scene of an ORV accident Sunday evening.

60-year-old Jerome Meunier of Evanston was ejected from the ORV he was operating after it left the roadway and flipped over. He was found by another person passing by the location. It is unknown how long Meunier was there before he was found.

CPR was administered by first responders without success and Meunier was pronounced dead at the scene by the Spencer County Coroner's Office.

Meunier was not found to be wearing saftey gear. Alcohol is believed to be a contributing factor in the accident.

The accident happened on County Road 1025 North with the initial 911 call received at 6:56 pm. Meunier was driving a Honda SXS side-by-side type ORV.

Responding agencies included the Spencer County Sheriff's Department, Spencer County EMS, New Boston Fire Department, Grandview Fire Department, St. Vincent Life Flight, Spencer County Coroner's Office and Indiana Conservation Officers.
