Evansville Man Pleads Guilty To Arson And Possession Of Explosive Device

(EVANSVILLE) - An Evansville man accused of setting fire to an apartment and then leaving explosives at a McDonald’s pleaded guilty on Friday afternoon.

According to court documents, 27-year-old Caleb Loving pleaded guilty but mentally ill to arson and possession of an explosive device.

The incidents happened in July of 2015.

Officials say Loving also pleaded guilty to battery and resisting charges.

Authorities say, he hit a deputy in the face with a broom handle back in June while inside the jail.

Sentencing in both cases is set for October 16th.
