Eagle Scout Needs Your Help Making Repairs At Medicine Lodge At Prophetstown State Park

Last updated on Wednesday, September 13, 2017

(PROPHETSTOWN STATE PARK) - Friends and Visitors of Prophetstown State Park are being requested to help a local Boy Scout in working towards his Eagle rank by completing the repairs and restoration to the medicine lodge at the Native American village by re-chinking (filling in the cracks) in the log structure, clean and remove pests such as hornets from the lodge.

As part of the project, Logan Hockema must raise the necessary funds to purchase supplies. He is almost half-way to his goal, and officials are hoping to help.

The Indian village in the state park is a popular location for school field trips and visitors who want to learn more about Native American lifestyles.

Visit Hockerma's GoFundMe site for more information at this link.
