Free Transportation Offered For Seniors To State Convention, 9/11 Hoosier Heroes To Be Honored

Last updated on Monday, August 21, 2017

(INDIANAPOLIS) - The Retired Indiana Public Employees Association (RIPEA) is hosting its 27th annual convention on Monday, September 11 and is offering free bus transportation to those who wish to attend.

In years past, buses have travelled to the convention's location in Indianapolis from South Bend, Kokomo, Clarksville, Vincennes/Terre Haute and Gary. RIPEA is a membership-based organization, but organizers say non-members are also encouraged to attend and utilize the free transportation option.

The convention will take place at Primo South Conference & Convention Center, 2615 National Avenue in Indianapolis, the same location as recent years.

On the agenda is keynote speaker Richard Oslund, an Indianapolis firefighter who spent two weeks in New York City following the 9/11 attacks. There will also be entertainment and cash door prizes (totaling $1,000). Doors open at 9 a.m., the program is from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. A buffet lunch is included. For the 27th year, the registration fee is only $12.

To ask about free bus transportation from your area or to register for the convention, visit www.RIPEA.org, or call (800) 345-9214. A minimum of 25 riders must be at any given location.
