Last updated on Tuesday, August 29, 2017

(UNDATED) - Research funded by the National Institute on Drug Abuse suggests that females who inject narcotics have a 38 percent higher risk than males for contracting hepatitis C.

Talk Media News reports that NIDA claims sharing syringes, has been blamed for passing the disease among drug users, was an evident practice among 1,800 people whose medical data was examined but it did not account for the higher risk among women.
