Woman Killed In High Speed Crash In Evansville

(EVANSVILLE) - One person was killed and other injured in a two-vehicle accident in Evansville Sunday afternoon.

The accident happened shortly after 4 p.m. at the intersection of North St. Joseph Avenue and Mohr Road.

According to a Vanderburgh County Sheriff's police report, 21-year-old Brooklyn Springston of Evansville was traveling at a high-rate of speed when she disregarded a traffic signal.

Her car collided with a pickup truck and came to a stop on its top in a nearby field.

Springston had to be freed from the wreckage. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the pickup truck, 28-year-old Jacob Kluesner of Evansville, suffered a head injury and was taken by ambulance to an Evansville hospital for treatment.
