(INDIANAPOLIS) - A former Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officer who was sentenced to 13 years in a 2010 deadly drunk driving accident, will be released from prison this weekend.
David Bisard's release date was moved up to June 11 after he completed a credit-earning program while in prison.
Bisard was sentenced to 13 years in 2013 after he was convicted of killing motorcyclist Eric Wells and seriously injuring two other people when he struck them with his police cruiser while intoxicated.
He was originally scheduled for release on June 6, but that date was pushed back this week to June 11.

Earlier this year, the Indiana Department of Corrections said Bisard's early release was a combination of credit earned for good behavior, a year's credit off his sentence for receiving his associate's degree while in prison, 183 days credit for pursuing vocational education and 90 days credit for completing a substance abuse program.
Bisard will be on probation with his license suspended for the next three years after his release.
