(CUTLER) - Indiana Conservation Officers are investigating a near drowning incident that took place in the area of 485 South and State Road 75 late Friday evening. At approximately 8:40 p.m. first responders were dispatched to the area for a male subject who was pulled out of the water unconscious.

Upon arriving on scene, Officers and other personnel discovered the male that was pulled out of the water was one of the persons rescued from an incident in the same portion of the wildcat from the previous night.

On Thursday, first responders were dispatched to 485 South and State Road 75 to assist 4 people who had capsized their boat on the flooded creek. All the subjects were located and were treated on scene for minor injuries. During the incident, several personal belongings were left behind on the bank of one of the nearby islands.

Friday evening the male of the group attempted to retrieve the belongings.

During the attempt to swim for the island bank, he became entangled in a rope that was attached to him.

Family on scene started CPR until EMS could arrive on scene.

The male was transported to IU Arnett Hospital in Lafayette. He is listed as critical condition at this time. Further updates will be listed as information becomes available.
