(INDIANAPOLIS) - Teaming up to help promote a shared vision for community resilience, the American Red Cross and Koorsen Fire & Safety are proud to announce an exciting new partnership.

Koorsen Fire & Safety has committed $10,000 for the Red Cross' continued dedication to fire safety and serving people in Indiana.

With more than 170 years between the Red Cross and Koorsen Fire & Security, both brands have become stakeholders in ensuring communities are informed and educated about fire safety through awareness, preparation, response and recovery.

The Red Cross' Home Fire Campaign is an example of a critical effort to reduce the number of home fire deaths and injuries by 25 percent. The campaign seeks to install free smoke alarms, test existing alarms and share fire safety education to individuals and families. Koorsen's mission of building more resilient communities is also underlined in their daily work and through their nonprofit, The Kasey Program, which teaches fire safety to roughly 400,000 children a year.

By engaging more than 500 Koorsen employees in Indiana, joint partnership activities will include; Home Fire Campaign canvassing, blood drives, fire extinguishing training and other resiliency building programs.

The Indiana Region serves 87 Indiana counties consisting of six Red Cross chapters: Central Indiana (Indianapolis headquarters), Northern Indiana (South Bend headquarters), Northeast Indiana (Fort Wayne headquarters), Northwest (Merrillville headquarters), Southern Indiana (Evansville headquarters) and West Central Indiana (Terre Haute headquarters).
