Death Of Knox Co. Man Turns Into Criminal Investigation

(DECKER) - Knox County Sheriff Mike Morris says the death of a Decker man is now considered a criminal investigation and detectives are working directly with the Knox County Prosecutor.

Knox County Sheriff Mike Morris says authorities responded to a report of an unresponsive male at 411 3rd Street in Decker around 8:14 a.m. Wednesday. First responders arrived on the scene and found that 46-year-old John D. Lowe dead in the home.

Knox County Coroner Brian Hagen says an autopsy conducted Wednesday afternoon indicated that Lowe died from an injury he sustained, but wouldn't specify the nature of that injury.

Detectives with the Sheriff's Department are working directly with Knox County Prosecutor Dirk Carnahan.

The scene has been investigated by the Indiana State Police Crime Scene unit assisted by Sheriff's Detectives.

Sheriff Morris says officers are also conducting interviews with witnesses and added that additional forensic experts have been called in to investigate the crime scene.

No arrests have been made at this time.
