Banks Co-Sponsors Bill To Eliminate Health Care Exemption For Members Of Congress

Last updated on Monday, May 1, 2017

(WASHINGTON, D.C.) - Congressman Jim Banks (IN-03) announced that he is co-sponsoring legislation that would prevent Members of Congress from exempting themselves from the American Health Care Act (AHCA).

"Congress should live under the laws it passes," said Banks. "This is a common-sense bill to ensure that the law applies equally to both Members of Congress and their constituents."

The legislation, introduced by Rep. Martha McSally (AZ-02), was introduced earlier today. Click here to view the text of the bill.
